89% of children met the expected standard in phonics
We are particularly pleased to see our phonics scores remain above national average for a second year. This reflects the impact of our work.
Key Stage 1
Reading – 81% of children meeting the expected standard
Maths – 86% of children meeting the expected standard
Writing – 58% of children meeting the expected standard
Reading and maths remain above national average for the second year, showing that the changes we have made continue to work their way through the school. Writing is currently being developed and we expect strong outcomes for 20223-24
Multiplication Tables Check
21% of children scored 25 out of 25 in the MTC.
The average score for each child was 19
We are disappointed to see this figure below the expected level. It forms part of our improvement focus for 2023-24.
Key Stage 2
Reading – 56% of children meeting the expected standard
Writing – 71% of children meeting the expected standard
Maths – 59% of children meeting the expected standard
Our children have worked very hard to recover their lost learning. Our monitoring shows that these results do not reflect the work seen in lessons or the work in the children’s books. This forms a major part of the 2023-24 development plan.
